It's Transition Time in the kitchen - so round up your harvest and cook, create and celebrate!
Colorful foliage, cool, crisp days, sweater weather - Autumn is such a beautiful time of the year. And the flavors of autumn are as vivid as the colors! Marcel’s has some new products and some old stand bys to help usher in this great season of taste!
You say tom-A-to and I say tom-ah-to. What to do with all those tomatoes - of course caprese salad is a must. Add some Cucina Viva Classic Balsamic Glaze to your tomatoes, or any veggie, grilled meats and poultry, steamed fish or pasta for that matter. Simply delectable!
One potato, two potato… try a sprinkle of s.a.l.t. Sisters truffle salt on your roasted potatoes to take them to the next level!
Happy hour! Quince and Apple's newest syrup, Honey Lemon syrup is a combination of local honey, fresh lemon juice, ginger and warm spices. It’s a perfect addition to beverages for the fall and winter months, mixed with dark spirits like bourbon or brandy. Try the Spiced Thyme Toddy - recipes on line at www.quinceandapple.com
Of course, pumpkin is the seasonal mascot of autumn, and Marcel’s has stocked up on Muirhead Pecan Pumpkin Butter (and cousin, Spiced Apple Butter.) Spread these delectables right on your English muffin, or use them in all sorts of recipes from appetizers to desserts, all available at www.muirheadfoods.com. And if you're making the classic Muirhead pumpkin dessert squares, come in to Marcel's and get your yellow cake mix, the pumpkin butter, and the recipe all packaged together! What could be easier?
