Run Your Business. Connect with Customers. Sell Anywhere.

Radiant Systems is now part of NCR Corporation

As you know, Radiant Systems was officially acquired by NCR this month. Over the last several weeks, I have learned quite a bit about our new company and I am very excited about the opportunities for our people and our customers as Radiant joins with NCR. I firmly believe NCR’s acquisition of Radiant Systems is a strong validation of the value we have created; it shows incredible support for our teams, our results and our strategy; and it provides an infrastructure that will enable Radiant to accelerate our global expansion. The team you work with at Radiant, our passion about delivering world class service, and our mission to help you run your business, connect with customers and sell anywhere has not changed. NCR’s commitment to customer satisfaction is very much the same as what you have come to expect from your team at Radiant Systems, and you should expect the same service or better going forward.

Please take the time to read the attached letter. There is some valuable information included. We will continue to keep you informed as we learn more. Thank you for your commitment to Radiant Systems, now part of NCR Corporation.

All the best,
Christian Nahas
Vice President

CPMobile
Earlier this month, you should have received an email describing the many enhancements that have been made available in CounterPoint SQL 8.4, and the additional features that were added to our latest release, 8.4.4. Keep in mind that the 8.4.4 version is also the release that will support the new CPMobile application available in mid-September. Questions about PCI Compliance?

Questions?
Confused or frustrated with all the different claims to lessen the load of PCI compliance? If so, you’re not alone. There are many service providers advertising that their solution makes PCI easier, but often their ads are lengthy, confusing, and in some cases are contradictory to what you believe to be true. The best thing you can do is see how any communication you receive aligns with the basic facts below:

1) PCI requirements are the same for every merchant. Period. There is no variation of requirements for small merchants. The only thing that varies is the way that merchants must prove they meet the requirements. Any ads that claim to lessen PCI requirements can be misleading.

2) The merchant can affect the amount of computer equipment to which they must perform tasks such as audit logging, anti-virus, and other PCI required activities. This is called reducing PCI scope. There are two primary principles to apply when trying to accomplish this:

a. Limit the equipment that ever comes in contact with cardholder data.

b. Separate any equipment that does come in contact with cardholder data with a firewall from any other equipment in the store.

Keep in mind that PCI covers any equipment that is simply connected to other equipment that comes in contact with credit cards. The reason is because if a hacker can access a non-credit card processing machine that is connected to one that does process credit cards, then it is a very simple process for him to gain access to your credit card environment through that computer. Example: If you have a POS terminal in your store that accepts a credit card swipe, and you need remote technical assistance on that machine, or any machine connected to it, all the PCI requirements around remote access apply.

3) There are PCI requirements that have nothing to do with computers. Operational policies, physical security, etc all apply no matter if you have one or many computers inside your cardholder data environment.

Radiant delivers solutions that are validated against PCI Payment Application Data Security Standards (PA-DSS). We will continue to work hard with our partners to ensure that CounterPoint is installed and configured so that your merchant environment meets PCI requirements. Please contact us with questions at [email protected] or reference additional information on CounterPoint PA-DSS Compliance and Data Security in the Support section on counterpointpos.com.
